Groups of cells working together are called tissues. Groups of tissues working together form individual organs. All of the systems of the body are composed of groups of organs, which work together to form their specific functions. After reviewing the information presented, you may want to investigate the difference among the systems in a variety of land and water animals. The following are the major systems of the mammalian body.
  • Digestive
  • Circulatory
  • Respiratory
  • Endocrine
  • Nervous
  • Integument(Skin)
  • Muscular
  • Skeletal
  • Reproductive
During this section we will focus primarily on the organs of the systems and their essential functions. Some of the systems will be more thoroughly discussed and others will be more briefly reviewed based on the necessary information required for the understanding of the material presented in this module.
