Chemistry Of the Cell
While cells are certainly the building blocks of
living things, atoms, elements, molecules, and
compounds are found within living cells. It's
fair to say, then, that they are the building
blocks of the building blocks! They not only
combine in various ways to form parts of the cell,
but also help in cell function. A molecule is made
up of two or more atoms joined together. Protein is
one of the most fundamental types of molecules.
