Cell Diversity
Webster's Dictionary defines diversity as variety.
The old saying states that "variety is the spice of life."
Diversity is everywhere we look. Flowers have numerous petal
formations. Insects come in a multitude of shapes, sizes and
colors. Common fungi have minute differences.
These examples demonstrate diversity. The cells within these and
other organisms have different characteristics. The cells that
create a centipede will not necessarily have the same form or
function as the cells that create a sea horse. Furthermore, the
cells of a rose have different characteristics than the cells of a toad.
