    Hanover Tomatoes - Tomatoes are Virginia’s ninth largest commodity with $95.9 million in receipts. The majority of tomato production is on Virginia’s Eastern Shore however, Hanover County in central Virginia is also known for its tasty tomatoes. Tomatoes are packed with health promoting vitamins and disease fighting phytochemicals, in particular lycopene. Tomatoes are also a source of fiber, have almost no sodium and fat and, like all vegetables, have no cholesterol.
